This planting project in Birling Kent has been so lovely to do. Our basic concept was that each set of opposite beds along the walk represents a season. So each bed has a central small tree or flowering shrub that will (hopefully) look its best at the peak of each season, surrounded by planting that will also be at it’s best during that season, but this planting overflows both sides into the neighboring seasons. They also each have a four roses one in each corner, as a memory of the rose garden that was here before which we transplanted them from. All is underplanted with bulbs to pop through and add to each beds seasonal celebration. This project started in March 2021 and the established photographs are from summer 2022.
