We give a Jack.

We have been delighted to have won a grant towards the cost of a portable power bank (Jackery) with solar panels for our on the hoof power needs.

It’s been bugging me for a while that our switch to more battery powered tools has caused us to lean more heavily on the grid where a good chunk of the power is still coming from non renewables.

Battery powered tools have other advantages despite in theory being less of a carbon footprint. On site emissions are drastically reduced, noise pollution is much lower and vibrations on the hands are less, which makes it less likely we’ll get carpal tunnel from prolonged exposure.

With this handy piece of equipment we can capture some of the energy we need straight from the sun!

We owe a big thanks to Kent Invicta chamber of commerce for accepting our application!
